The airbed and water support your body so you can rest without holding a floor position for the full session.
The team explains the equipment, helps everyone settle and brings the experience to a gradual close.
Crystal bowls and gentle sound travel through the room while you float, creating a distinctive sense of depth and space.
After a welcome and safety briefing, settle onto your floating airbed. Guided meditation leads into a sound journey, with crystal bowls and gentle instruments played around the water.
Rest in your own way, without pressure to sleep or feel anything in particular. The session closes gradually, giving you time to return to the rest of your day.
Instead of resting on a floor mat, you lie on an airbed supported by warm water. Some guests find this more comfortable; others enjoy the combination of sound and water.
It is still a calm, guided group experience rather than a swimming session. The individual event page explains the equipment, venue and suitability information. If you have limited mobility, water anxiety, pregnancy or a health condition that may affect participation, contact Mayan Retreats before booking.
Current sessions at Sandpearl last 90 minutes. Some event dates offer more than one start time: choose the specific session when booking, rather than treating the whole date as a continuous drop-in event. The booking page shows the current per-person price and remaining places for that session.
Follow the clothing and arrival instructions on your chosen event page. Arrive in time for the safety briefing and an explanation of the floating equipment.
Floating sound baths are wellbeing experiences, not medical treatment. You remain responsible for following the venue guidance and sharing any relevant concerns before the session. Questions can be sent to hello@mayanretreats.co.uk.
Current floating sound baths take place at Sandpearl, 82 North Promenade, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, FY8 2QW. Check your chosen event page for session times and booking instructions.
Venue arrangements can change between seasons, so always use the map and practical information provided with your booking rather than relying on details from a previous event.

“I have done a couple of retreats, floating sound bath, sauna and sea dips. All of them have been a great experience.”
“Cannot recommend Mayan Retreats highly enough. The value for money is without doubt. The retreats are so diverse, deeply relaxing and fulfilling. Lucy prioritises your health and wellbeing above all else and words do not do the benefits justice. I usually go on my own and I genuinely never feel out of place. The floating sound bath was deeply relaxing, the sauna and sea dip were raw and powerful, and my most recent indoor retreat was so much more than breathwork, meditation and a soundbath. I have benefited so much from Lucy's knowledge, guidance and support. Her genuine nature is next level, and the quality and value for money each time has blown me away.”
