What is a nature retreat?

A nature retreat is a held day or gathering where the pace softens and the outside world becomes part of the experience. It may include rest, reflection, walking, breath, sound, journaling or water-based elements where the event itself says so.

The focus is not on fixing yourself. It is an invitation to step away from normal noise and spend time in a grounded, supportive setting.

Been on two of the nature retreats in the Lake District, very welcoming environment and good energy leading to blissful moments, beautiful views, happy memories and great presence felt in the moment, so clear and at peace. Also been to a couple of the free public sound baths on the beach at Fleetwood which are nice for beginners, with lots of people in attendance which is great to see.

I have done a couple of retreats, floating sound bath, sauna and sea dips. All of them have been a great experience.

Truly amazing experience in Malaga.

Truly amazing experience in Malaga. Lucy and Emmy are so in tune with each other and the group. The family at Crystal Inn are just inspirational and you feel at home the moment you get there. Thank you for all you have done for me xx

Nature retreat FAQs

What should I bring to a nature retreat?
Check the individual event page first. As a general guide, bring comfortable layers, suitable shoes, water, any personal medication, and anything listed for that specific retreat.
Do I need retreat experience?
No. Mayan nature retreats are designed to feel welcoming for beginners as well as people who already love retreat spaces.
Are Mayan nature retreats suitable for beginners?
Yes, but each retreat has its own pace, terrain and requirements. Read the event details before booking so you know whether the day feels right for you.
Where are the retreats held?
Mayan is rooted around Blackpool, the Fylde Coast and Lancashire. Nature retreats may extend into deeper nature settings such as the Lake District when a current retreat is listed there.
Are Lake District retreats full-day or overnight?
Only the individual event page confirms the format. This hub covers nature-led retreats and day retreat experiences, but does not imply accommodation unless an event clearly includes it.
Is wild swimming included?
Cold water or wild swimming is only included where stated on the event page and is always optional unless the event clearly says otherwise.
How do I book?
Use the upcoming retreats section on this page, or browse all retreats to choose the date and location that suits you.
What if I am nervous about coming alone?
Many people come to retreat spaces on their own. Lucy holds the group with a warm, grounded tone, and you can arrive quietly without needing to perform or explain yourself.
